Woodsetts 2008

It was a Saturday and it rained - but no one cared. The bands in the afternoon played on relentless, and their hardcore fans stayed till the very end. Everyone was really enthusiastic and loved every minute of it - even if we were all getting soaked!

The Wildcats drama group were so nervous! They had done all their build up to that day, done their dress rehearsal a few days before to prepare for it, and were so excited about it! The 4 older girls that produced it were very humble and really enjoyed organising things - they were all stars in their own right!

It was a shame that we couldn't have the fly-past, but the weather was so bad they had to cancel on health & safety reasons, it just wasn't safe to have the plane go by, which did dissapoint some people.

Everyone loved the samba band during the procession and on stage later on, a different insight to music, and an altogether different feel.

The Framptaren Guggen Band were a very different treat! They paraded down the field from the main entrace and then joined us on stage, to give a wonderful round of different music which everyone really loved!

And The Scouts kept us fed with bacon butties!

Sunday was a fantastic day - despite the strong winds and electrical problems in the morning!

The Toddlers Toddle went down a treat, and the children were really pleased when they came on stage to collect their certificates and rosettes! Also their Fancy Dress Compettition was lovely - they all made a great effort with their costumes and were not scared to flaunt them on the Trust AM stage before going off their party!

The 'Fun-Run' in the morning was well attained. Everyone was really up for making it a good race - and a very young gentleman won! Medals were given out and certificates for taking part.

The fun part of the day was the tug of war compettition - nearly everyone came round the back of the stage to view and take part - and the prize of beer went down a treat as well!

The Whiston Brass Band at the end was fantastic! They nearly got blown away by the wind, but a massive crowd gathered to listen, and they played beautifully!

The weekend was enojyed by everyone, and Trust AM were very proud to have been asked to present the weekend - many thanks to Wilkinsons for providing the lorries for the stage, and to Gill Parkin who organised everything and was a big help on the day.
