League of Friends 2008
Trust AM have always helped at the Leagues Fete, and even though this year the Outside Broadcast Van had been booked for the Woodsetts Gala prior to us being notified of the date, we decided to take some equipment there and provide P.A. and music.
What a day!! Typical British summer weather, rain, rain and more rain. However, off we went, Andy Morton, Ian Gilligan, Kevin Dexter, Mike Tunningley and myself. Andy brought his Gazebo, and all the C.D. players, amplifiers, etc. Were coupled up under the Gazebo, where we all gathered, providing the music etc.
It was amazing how many people turned up, braving the weather to support the event, all the proceeds went towards buying new Wheelchairs for the Outpatients dept. at Bassetlaw Hospital. Quite a number of people came to our " studio" and congratulated us on our choice of music. We also recieved a letter from the organisers, thanking us.
We came away wet, bedragalled, but happy that we had helped a good cause. Lets hope for better weather next year.
